Mammotion revolutionizes robotic mowing at #CES2025, with bluffing mini-robots and super-powered AI!

The robotic lawnmower sector has been booming over the past two years, thanks to the emergence of robots that no longer require a boundary wire. New manufacturers have emerged, such as Mammotion. The Chinese manufacturer, which has rapidly established itself as a key player in the robotic lawnmower market, has just struck a major blow at CES 2025 by unveiling its latest innovations. And if its first models were already surprising, the new ones announced are even more so! The Luba 2 AWD has already received a prestigious award, being named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2024.

The star of the show: UltraSense AI Vision

Let's start with the main course: the new UltraSense AI Vision technology. It's simply breathtaking! Imagine a robot capable of identifying over 120 different types of object and automatically avoiding them. No more forgotten toys in the garden or clothes that fall off the clothesline and end up in lint! (Yes, I'm speaking from experience…) The precision is remarkable, with a cut at just 5 cm from walls or fences. The technology can also be used to create virtual barriers to protect sensitive areas such as gardens or swimming pools.

This artificial intelligence goes even further by automatically mapping your lawn, without having to manually guide the robot along the edges. It's child's play, making the once tedious installation a simple formality. The system can now map areas of up to 10,000 m², while adapting to changes in the landscape. Even more impressive, the robot maintains continuous mowing up to 300 m from its base, even in areas where GPS is weak or non-existent.

The newcomers: mini-robots!

The big surprise at CES is the arrival of two new compact models that are sure to please! The Luba Mini AWD and the Yuka Mini have arrived to take care of small and medium-sized terrains.

The Luba Mini AWD is the pocket version of the famous Luba 2 AWD. Don't be fooled by its size: this strapping little 15kg machine is capable of climbing slopes of up to 40° thanks to its 88-watt motor (unheard of for a robot of this size!). With its 20 cm cutting disc equipped with six blades, it does a remarkable job on surfaces of up to 1,500 m². Designed for tall, dense grass, its omnidirectional wheels and 8″ cutting width ensure perfect ground coverage.

As for the Yuka Mini, it's the featherweight of the bunch, weighing in at just 10 kilos. Perfect for urban gardens, it tackles surfaces of up to 800 m² with formidable efficiency. And the price? A real pleasant surprise, with a starting price of €899 for the 600 m² version. Our much-loved Navimow i105 is likely to face stiff competition this year!

The existing range gets a facelift

Our big brothers have not been forgotten! The Luba 2 AWD gets an impressive power boost: its motor goes from 45 to 165 watts. Enough to tackle the toughest terrain without flinching! Autonomy also takes a leap forward, with 4 hours of continuous mowing, enabling it to mow up to 1500m2 on a single charge. The mowing structure has also been optimized to prevent grass build-up, a crucial factor in maintaining consistent performance.

As for the Yuka, it transforms itself into a veritable Swiss Army knife for the garden. With its optional leaf collection system, it becomes a particularly practical 2-in-1. Cutting width is increased to 32 cm thanks to two discs, each equipped with five blades. Impressive!

Game-changing technology

All these robots share advanced features that really make a difference. RTK technology ensures ultra-precise positioning, while WiFi and the integrated 4G module guarantee a permanent connection.

But perhaps the most impressive feature is the turf printing function! Yes, you read that right: these robots can create patterns by not mowing certain areas of the lawn. They'll turn your garden into a real work of art! Admittedly, this may seem like “gadgetry” to the average person, but it's a feature that's much appreciated by hotels, for example, who can draw their logo on the lawn at the entrance…

Prices remain competitive for such advanced machines. The Luba 2 AWD starts at €2,599 for the 5000X version, while the Yuka starts at €1,399 without the sweeper.

Pool robot in sight?

Interestingly, a wireless pool robot also made an appearance on the Mammotion stand at CES 2025. Unfortunately, details about this new product are very limited at the moment, as there has been no official communication about it yet. We'll come back to it later, when the manufacturer is ready to communicate. But this foray into pool robots marks a potentially strategic diversification for Mammotion, which could extend its expertise in outdoor robotics beyond lawnmowers.

In any case, Mammotion is striking hard at the start of 2025. With its extensive range and technological innovations, the brand is proving that it has all the makings of a great company. The competition will have to watch out!
