The eedomus home automation box has just received a new update that improves the box's network support with mDNS name management. This makes it easier to integrate Shelly WiFi devices into your eedomus system!
I particularly like Shelly devices because they are well-built and have many features. I even presented some of them in a tutorial for automating the startup of a device when there is excess solar production. All this without a home automation box, which is very practical. But with their great versatility, they are also capable of working with a home automation box to leverage their data and multiply the scenario possibilities. And they are now also compatible with the eedomus box, without having to go through the cloud! The manufacturer has also created several guides for easy integration. While this is the main new feature of this update, it also brings other improvements:
Android App: Support for Android 13 Tiramisu API adaptationNetatmo Camera
following the latest changes
- HTTP sensors, automatic conversion from JSON to XML when
- XPath is configured Management of Zigbee action acknowledgment
- (an action on a plug/bulb being unplugged remains “In progress…” until it is actually executed) The box is now able to query the eedomus.local
- (or eedomus-2.local if multiple boxes) addresses. This is a simpler alternative to the IP address, which can change if it is not fixed. The local site is now accessible at
- http://eedomus.local (API links are also offered with this syntax as a possible alternative to the IP address) / eedomus+ only. This local mDNS name can be changed on the page http://eedomus.local (Useful for navigating if you have multiple boxes) Battery management available via API (SET) requests An update that's always welcome!
