Shelly: 11 new products in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zwave #IFA2023!

Shelly products are highly regarded home automation peripherals. The manufacturer offers innovative, well-finished devices at unbeatable prices. The devices have the advantage of working directly via Wi-Fi, which allows them to eliminate the need for a home automation box, while still allowing for numerous scenarios, such as the one we saw, for example, to automatically recharge a battery in the event of excess solar power. But this year, the manufacturer unveiled 11 very interesting peripherals, some of which bypass Wi-Fi altogether… The Shelly booth featured an impressive giant screen at IFA…Shelly Wall Display: the wall-mounted display to control everything!

Various manufacturers such as SonOff and Aqara have already been offering it for some time: the wall-mounted touchscreen for controlling their home automation. Shelly is following the trend with its Shelly Wall Display model, a 10cm color touchscreen that allows you to control all of the manufacturer's devices with your fingertips. This screen can replace an existing switch (neutral required, however!). Once connected to a power supply, simply connect it to the Shelly cloud to instantly access all the devices and scenarios in your account. You can then control them, but also display information such as temperature or electricity consumption, for example. The home screen is fully customizable, especially since it natively integrates a temperature, humidity, and brightness sensor, which therefore allows it to also be used as a thermostat.

Like the other devices in the range, it features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and therefore doesn't require an intermediate hub to work with other devices. It also features MQTT connectivity (for integration with Home Assistant or Jeedom, for example) and webhooks, allowing it to be used seamlessly with third-party systems.

This screen is already available on the manufacturer's website for €142.80. Shelly Mini Series: micro modules… really micro

While the Shelly Plus micro modules were very popular, it's a safe bet that the mini series will be a hit! It offers the same features, but in a 35% smaller size, allowing them to be installed even in the smallest flush-mounted boxes.

There are three models: Shelly Plus 1 Mini, Shelly Plus 1 PM Mini, and Shelly Plus PM Mini, which allow you to control any lighting or appliance, or even monitor power consumption. All via Wi-Fi, of course.

This makes installation much easier! These micro modules are available for around fifteen euros each.Shelly Pro EM-50: Consumption monitoring in DIN rail format

I previously presented the Shelly micro module, which allows you to monitor electricity consumption and production using two metric clamp meters. Well, here we have the same module, but in DIN rail format, meaning it can be positioned directly in an electrical panel! (Yes, so I'll probably be tempted to replace the micro module :)

It displays 60 days of historical data and also includes a relay to control other devices, which can even be triggered using scripts.

In short, it's a perfect module for monitoring electricity consumption (or production)! It will cost €90.

Shelly BLU Motion: Bluetooth motion detection

Shelly also offers Bluetooth-only devices. This is the case with the BLU Motion, which, as its name suggests, is a motion detector. Thanks to Bluetooth BLE, this sensor has a 5-year battery life on its CR2477 battery. Offering 256 sensitivity levels and brightness measurement, it can be used for any type of scenario. Its range is up to 9m, at an angle of 120°.

It will be available by September 15th for around €25.

Another wireless device, and therefore Bluetooth, is the door and window opening sensor. Again, its CR2032 battery offers a battery life of up to 5 years! In addition to opening detection, it includes tilt and brightness measurement. It is available in three colors (white, black, wood effect) to complement all openings. The Shelly BLU Door/Window is alreadyavailable for €20.

Shelly BLU Gateway: the bridge between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

Since most Shelly devices operate via Wi-Fi, especially the first generation, which only had Wi-Fi (the Plus and Pro ranges had both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi), it may be necessary to bridge the gap between Wi-Fi devices and Bluetooth-only devices. This small USB dongle was designed for just that. This dongle is available for

Zwave is coming to Shelly!

Although ZigBee is very fashionable, Zwave is not dead, far from it! And Shelly also offers modules using this protocol, in version 800, i.e., the latest Zwave chip. In fact, the manufacturer is now offering this range because it recently acquired Qubino, a Zwave specialist. This new range is also stamped “Shelly Qubino”.Shelly now offers three micro modules: Shelly Qubino Wave 1PM, 2PM, and Wave 1. These micro modules allow you to control lighting or appliances while monitoring their electricity consumption.

Please note that unlike Wi-Fi modules, Zwave modules require a Zwave-compatible home automation gateway. As usual, Shelly is slashing prices again, with Zwave 800 modules ranging from just €28 to €35.

So, here are many new features that I can't wait to try!
