Shelly's latest at #IFA 2024: smart control, energy efficiency and expanded compatibility

Shelly Group once again made an impression at IFA 2024 with a range of innovative IoT solutions that promise to transform our smart homes and businesses. This world-renowned event is always an opportunity for tech giants to stand out, and Shelly never disappoints. Let’s find out what’s new at IFA 2024.

New Shelly Products

Shelly took advantage of IFA Berlin to present many new products. Among them, the new Shelly BLU TRV, a smart radiator thermostat that allows precise temperature regulation with an accuracy of ±0.5 °C, ensuring a perfect indoor climate at all times. The Shelly BLU TRV is controllable via Bluetooth, allowing for flexible integration into existing smart home systems. Its key strengths include fast response times, long battery life and easy integration into many smart home ecosystems (Gen3 Gateway required).

Intelligent schedules and the ability to use external sensors, such as the Shelly BLU H&T or the Shelly BLU Door-/Window-Sensor, make the BLU TRV the ideal solution for precise heating control and maximum energy efficiency. The Boost mode also ensures that the desired climate is achieved in the shortest possible time.

Other new product features include:

Shelly Plug Gen3: A compact yet powerful Wi-Fi smart plug, equipped with an innovative Shelly chip, with 8 MB of memory. This advanced chip guarantees unmatched performance and efficiency. Whether for lighting, heating or other connected devices, the Shelly Plug S Gen3 offers users the freedom and flexibility to adapt their home or office to their needs. No more wasted energy due to devices left on by mistake or continuously! With just a few clicks, all connected devices can be controlled and automated thanks to intelligent schedules. In addition, the Shelly Plug Gen3 is the first Shelly product to receive Matter certification, allowing its integration into Matter systems. Shelly 2PM Gen3: This smart switch offers two-channel control and power monitoring. It is equipped with the new Shelly chip and 8 MB of memory. It allows remote control and monitoring of two electrical circuits or bi-directional motors, such as roller shutters and blinds, and is ideal for installations in standard wall boxes.

Shelly BLU RC Button 4: This four-button smart Bluetooth remote control offers simple control of up to 16 different actions. It is equipped with integrated magnets and a magnetic holder for flexible placement options.

Shelly Wave Pro Dimmer 1PM: This professional single-channel smart dimmer, mounted on a DIN rail, with power monitoring, is designed to control and dim halogen lights, dimmable LEDs as well as transformers in the 110-240 V range. It offers various possibilities for customizing lighting scenarios and schedules.

Shelly DALI Dimmer Gen3: The module that will be of great interest to professional installers, as it connects the Shelly ecosystem to a DALI lighting network, allowing precise control of DALI-compatible light sources. It is an essential device for modern smart homes and commercial buildings. The Shelly DALI Dimmer Gen3 can be integrated into KNX systems and offers a powerful and cost-effective solution for extending any existing installation. With the possibility of wireless expansion, the need for wiring is eliminated, reducing both installation time and costs. Whether users are enhancing an existing system or adding new features, the new Shelly device offers a flexible and efficient method for expanding their KNX network. Speaking of lighting, the manufacturer also presented the Pro RGBWW PM module, capable of controlling LED strips on 5 channels, with consumption measurement:

We could also see the new Shelly PRO 3 EM in the 63A version, which enriches the range of 3 EM, with more compact metric ampere clamps, but requiring however to remove the cable to install them:

Shelly Qubino becomes Shelly Wave

Shelly also announced the change of name of its products

Shelly Qubino Wave

to Shelly Wave , marking an important step in the consolidation of its product offer. The new name Shelly Wavereflects Shelly’s growth as a provider of high-quality IoT solutions. This change only affects the name of the devices, which will now be called Shelly Wave in association with their respective model (e.g. Shelly Wave 1PM). This name change will have no impact on the functionality, hardware or firmware specifications of the devices. The rebranding of the Wave range will be visually represented by a new packaging design that will be unveiled soon. The Shelly Wave (formerly Shelly Qubino Wave) products will continue to offer the same high standards of performance and reliability. Great surprises to come… A prototype of Smart Control was visible on the stand. It is the XL version of an already existing model:

But this time, it allows you to control not only Shelly devices, but also other equipment, such as music from SONOS speakers.

Following the official launch of Shelly X in May 2024, it was possible to discover Shelly's advanced module system live for the first time.
