Ecoflow launches a waterproof battery for its Powerstream solar system!

The Powerstream is a piece of equipment that I presented to you last year, and which won me over: this small box allows you to automatically store part of your solar production on a battery, to reuse it during hours without sun. An excellent system for optimizing your solar production. There was only one flaw: if the Powerstream is waterproof and can be used outdoors without any problem, the compatible batteries, which are not waterproof, had to be placed indoors. And with a cable of maximum 1m long, the choice was quickly made. To remedy this and facilitate installation, Ecoflow has just launched its waterproof battery to work with its EcoFlow Powerstream balcony solar kit!

Durability and waterproofing

The EcoFlow 2 kWh waterproof battery is durable, with an IP54 protection rating. This feature provides protection against dust and water, guaranteeing reliable and long-lasting performance for outdoor installations.

In addition, this kit benefits from a 10-year quality guarantee, thus offering a reliable user experience.

Resistance to extreme temperatures

The sealed 2 kWh battery is equipped with an automatic heating system that ensures efficient operation and constant charging, even in cold weather (down to -20°C). This system increases the internal temperature of the battery above 0℃, allowing it to operate without interruption.

Quiet operation

Thanks to its ultra-low noise level of 0 db, the battery delivers energy and performance without the slightest noise.

A more affordable solution

If at €299 the Powerstream was relatively affordable, given the fact that it is both a management hub and a hybrid micro inverter, the investment was more substantial for the compatible battery.

Here, this waterproof battery goes straight to the point: no more need for the mains and USB sockets of the usual portable batteries, this battery is there only to store the energy from the solar panels. Period. So of course its price is clearly revised downwards. It is currently only sold in a pack with a PowerStream, at a price of only 1429€, which is a very competitive price for such a system equipped with 2kwh. And at the moment the manufacturer is offering a connected socket and a flashlight for any purchase of a kit:

A solution that directly competes with the new Zendure Solar Hub 2000 kit, which offers the same service at 1498€. All that is missing is the monitoring of the home's consumption so that the system only injects the energy that the home really needs, as Zendure already does. Good news: the integration of Shelly equipment into the Ecoflow application to manage all this is underway. So it's just a matter of time.

One last detail though: the Ecoflow system does not seem to be scalable in terms of capacity, while the Zendure solution can literally stack up to 4 batteries (i.e. a total of 7.6 kWh). 2 kWh will however be more than enough to store the production of one or two solar panels.
