I don't know about you, but here the USB devices to recharge every night are multiplying on my bedside table: smartphone, but also smart watch, Bluetooth headphones, and even from time to time my Kindle e-reader or my tablet. Not only does all this take up space, but it's also a big mess in terms of cables… So when I discovered the Thomson CL800I station at the last IFA in Berlin, I fell in love, because this station, in addition to charging everything properly, also includes an alarm clock and a bedside lamp. In short, a product specially designed for the bedside table, therefore. I have been using it daily for two months now, so it is time for me to tell you a little more about it!
Unboxing the Thomson CL800I station
This Thomson CL800I station announces the color right from the packaging: it is a station / alarm clock / bedside lamp intended to recharge all our everyday devices.

This, with or without wire, since it is compatible with induction charging, which equips many smartphones today, and more and more products in general, such as headphones or smartwatches.

Inside, we find the Thomson CL800I station, accompanied by a small plastic case, a cover, a power supply, and a user manual.

The station is fully integrated, and measures 20 x 17.5cm. A column, on the left, measuring 17cm high, contains the alarm clock part and the bedside lamp.

The tray at the front contains the induction charging (power 10w). The location to properly place the smartphone is represented by 4 rounded corners:

But a small silver border also provides a reference to properly position the smartphone, even in the dark. By placing it along this border, the smartphone is normally well positioned for induction charging.

On the front, a silver button, completely integrated into the base, is used to turn on the bedside lamp. It is possible to vary the intensity and heat of the lighting by successive presses (4 intensity levels, and 3 heat levels: white, warm white, warm). This same button also allows you to pause the alarm clock when it rings in the morning (“snooze” function).

On the side, 4 buttons are used to set the alarm clock: current time, wake-up time, alarm clock brightness, and sound volume. We also have a Usb-A port to plug in any Usb device, whether for charging or direct power.

The back is sleek, which allows it to be placed along a wall if necessary.

We only have the connector for the station power supply which provides 2.7A at 9V.

With the station comes a small box with rounded shapes, using the same black design. This is the support for charging the watch and headphones.

On the bottom it has two connectors to place it on the Thomson CL800I station, and thus power itself:

At the back, another Usb-C connector can be used to power the box if it is not placed on the station.

This case comes with two covers, curved or flat, depending on the type of case you have for your headphones.

Inside the case, two connectors: a Usb-A and a Usb-C. You can plug in the chargers for the headphones and the connected watch.

Let's move on to use to better understand the principle…
Thomson CL800I: in use
The small box seen previously was designed to recharge Bluetooth headphones and smartwatches. But the latter often have a different connector, hence the fact that the Thomson CL800I is delivered without cables. This box therefore allows you to use the cable supplied with your smartwatch: you can plug it into the USB-A or C port available inside the box, then pass the connector through the hole available at the front:

Here, for example, I inserted the connector of my Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5:

The connector being magnetic, the watch starts charging automatically when I place it around this box. The rounded edges of this box allow the watch to be attached to it naturally.

The principle is the same for the connector coming out on the top, intended to recharge a headphone box. Here I brought out the USB-C connector:

You can thus simultaneously charge your smartphone, smart watch, and Bluetooth headphones:

And you could also charge another device, like my Kindle for example, thanks to the USB-A port available on the side of the station.
Once the station is plugged into a power outlet, it displays the time, can turn on the bedside lamp, and of course charge all our devices:

The time is displayed through a net like that of a speaker, which gives a very discreet integration. The brightness of the time can also be adjusted according to several levels, if you want to keep something discreet without lighting up the entire room. You can even turn it off completely if you want complete darkness. Moreover, to avoid looking for buttons on the side, the brightness of the time can be adjusted simply by tapping on the top of the time. The same goes for stopping the alarm in the morning.
And here is a much tidier nightstand! Everything is charged at night, no more unsightly cables, and by the way we have an alarm clock and a bedside lamp integrated!

If the whole thing is very practical, one could however wonder how to charge one's watch or headphones outside the bedroom, given that the cables and adapters are well inserted in the small charging box. This is where the small removable box reveals all its trick: as we have seen it is simply placed on the station and starts charging thanks to the two connectors underneath. It can therefore be easily removed and taken wherever you want in 1s. And by connecting it to the back with a Usb-C cable, it allows you to charge your smartwatch and headphones wherever you want.

In short, in use this Thomson CL800I station is really practical!

Conclusion
I have been using this Thomson CL800I station for a little over 2 months, and it has become indispensable to me! Having the time displayed, an alarm clock, and a bedside lamp is always very practical on a bedside lamp. But the charging part is really ultra practical! No more messy cables on the bedside table, we have a clean, tidy space, but which can accommodate all our devices in charge, each in its place. We can charge both our smartphone and our headphones on the induction charger (compatible devices of course), and also take advantage of the charging of our connected watch and headphones, if they do not have the induction charger. Without forgetting of course the presence of a USB-A port on the side which allows you to charge devices not compatible with induction, like a Kindle for example. Available for less than €60, it is a station to have if you have like me lots of devices in charge on your bedside table! The only criticism I could make of it? It is only available in black, personally I would have preferred a white model for the aesthetics in my room. Apart from that, it is a really practical product!
