In a market saturated with all kinds of smartwatches, the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra, which I'm introducing to you today, stands out for its robustness and numerous features, at an ultra-aggressive price, offering an affordable solution for outdoor enthusiasts and active users. With its durable design and versatile performance, the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra promises to meet the needs of demanding users. Having had it on my wrist for a little over a month now, it's time to tell you more about this very attractive smartwatch.
Unboxing the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra
The packaging showcases the product well, with a beautiful “rugged” design and every possible level of protection… Even the name of the watch, “Tank,” sets the tone: it's a solid product :)

The box contains the watch, an adjustable strap, a user manual, and a charger. The watch is easily assembled by attaching the strap using the included attachment levers. A tempered glass screen protector is even included, along with alignment markers and cleaning wipes. I think this is the first smartwatch I've tested that comes with this type of accessory. It does feature Corning® Gorilla® Glass as standard, but you can never be too careful :)

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra is clearly designed for durability. Its robust case is made of high-quality materials (stainless steel, polyamide, and fiberglass), ensuring resistance to shocks and harsh conditions.

The watch features a 1.96″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 410×502 pixels (331 ppi), offering a clear and bright interface (1,000 nits). The overall size remains very compact (56 × 43 × 12.8 mm for 75g), and will be easy to handle even on small wrists.

The Tank M3 Ultra's design is distinguished by its physical buttons located on the sides of the watch. These buttons facilitate navigation, especially in environments where using the touchscreen can be difficult, such as during sports or outdoor activities. The top-right button opens the app menu, while the left buttons allow you to navigate up and down. The fourth button can be programmed for your preferred action.

Under the watch, we find the usual sensors on this type of device, for measuring heart rate, blood oxygen levels, etc. This is also where the two charging connectors are located:
This is done via the magnetic charging case:

One last detail: the silicone strap, which comes disassembled, can be easily replaced with any other standard size 22mm watch strap.

Let's move on to its use without further ado…

Kospet Tank M3 Ultra: In Use
The Kospet mobile app is essential for getting the most out of the Tank M3 Ultra. It is, of course, available for iOS and Android.
After installing the app, simply add a new device. The watch is automatically detected. Confirm the pairing, and that's it. The system will then check if an update is available.

The app allows you to customize the watch faces by downloading additional designs and adjusting the watch's appearance according to the user's preferences. A large box invites you to visit the watch face gallery:

A wide selection is available, to suit all tastes. You can also customize your screen yourself, with the image and information you want:

It also provides options for adjusting watch settings, such as units of measurement and time formats. In addition to these features, the app offers watch location and media control on connected devices. You can of course set various alarms such as the morning alarm, a reminder to move, activate the monitoring of certain health data, set quick response messages, or even define emergency contacts, which can prove crucial during outdoor outings in the event of a problem.

The app synchronizes health and fitness data, providing detailed analysis of physical activities and sleep.

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra offers fitness tracking features, including step counting, measuring distance traveled, and calculating calories burned.

The watch monitors different stages of sleep, providing detailed data on sleep quality.

It also has a heart rate sensor that works continuously, providing accurate and reliable measurements.

From the application it is possible to launch one of the many sporting activities to follow it:

For running, for example, you can launch the activity and adjust a few settings:

All this data can also be viewed on the watch itself:

Note that geolocation is done directly via the watch, since it is capable of connecting to the 6 supported satellite positioning systems: GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS and NAVIC (IRNSS).

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra is water-resistant, certified IP69K and 5ATM. So, no worries about using it in the rain, in the shower, or even while washing dishes, as it can even accompany us to the pool and measure our workouts there too. It's also capable of tracking a rather astounding number of activities, with no fewer than 170 different activities recognized! Six of these are automatically recognized by the watch (walking, running, cycling, elliptical, rowing), while the others must be manually selected from the menu.
In addition to health and fitness data, the watch displays messages, calls, and app alerts directly on the screen, eliminating the need to pull out your smartphone to check messages.

Other very practical applications are also integrated: a flashlight, compass, and barometric altimeter, always useful for outdoor excursions. Calculator, stopwatch, weather, music control, triggering the smartphone's voice assistant, remote photo capture, smartphone search, and more.
While this watch doesn't run Wear OS, which means it doesn't offer access to its app store, it comes with a wide range of features.

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra has a 480 mAh battery, offering an impressive battery life of 10 to 15 days with normal use, or 2 to 3 days with the screen always on. Charging is also fast, taking about an hour and a half for a full charge. This long battery life is a major advantage for users who don't want to charge their watch every day, something that often puts them off with other popular models, which typically only last 24 to 48 hours.

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra excels in terms of durability. Its rugged construction and 15 MIL-STD-810H, IP69K, and 5ATM certifications ensure resistance to harsh environments.
The watch can easily withstand shocks, splashes, and adverse weather conditions, making it an excellent choice for outdoor activities and extreme sports. Despite its ruggedness, the Kospet Tank M3 Ultra is relatively comfortable to wear on a daily basis. The adjustable strap provides a good fit on the wrist.

To test its durability, this YouTuber took a particularly rough look at it (the round version differs only in shape; the rest is identical to the model presented here):

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra's sensors are generally accurate and reliable. The heart rate sensor works well continuously and provides data consistent with what I've seen on a Withings model, for example. Fitness tracking is also accurate, with good step counting and reasonable calorie burn estimates. Sleep tracking provides detailed information on different sleep stages, although some variation can be observed.
Conclusion

The Kospet Tank M3 Ultra is a rugged and versatile smartwatch, ideal for active users and outdoor enthusiasts. It offers a wealth of features, good battery life, and exceptional resistance to harsh conditions. Its many strengths make it a solid option to consider for those looking for a durable and functional watch.
