SwitchBot has been well-known for many years for its small robot capable of flipping a switch for us. The manufacturer has since launched many other devices for the connected home. This year, it's the turn of a robot vacuum cleaner to be unveiled. And as expected, SwitchBot has come up with more surprising ideas!

SwitchBot unveiled its S10 floor-cleaning robot at IFA 2023. Another one, you might say! But this SwitchBot S10 features a surprising innovation: a compact water station that adapts in minutes to the plumbing of the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room, to automatically supply the robot with water and also allow it to empty its dirty water on its own. A station designed to manage water automatically
We've already seen several models of washing stations being tested on the site: each station (which is quite large) has a tank that needs to be filled with clean water, and another that needs to be emptied from time to time for dirty water. This allows the robot to generally operate autonomously for one to two weeks, depending on how often you wash the floor. While human intervention is limited, it is still necessary from time to time.
Thanks to its self-filling and self-emptying water station system, the SwitchBot S10 is able to clean your home autonomously, eliminating the need to manually fill its fresh water tank and empty the wastewater, so you don't have to remember to do it yourself! Just like the washing machines and dishwashers you're used to at home, simply connect the water inlet hose to a water outlet or faucet, and the drain hose to the drain port, and you're done.

Connected under a sink

Thus, the Water Station is able to help the SwitchBot S10 fill and empty itself, without human intervention.

or even the toilet!

The SwitchBot S10 is equipped with a self-cleaning roller that can automatically dry itself and add its own cleaning solution. This new roller scrubs and washes simultaneously, self-cleaning 300 times per minute without returning to the dock. It is gentle and won't damage floor coverings.

When it detects carpets, it not only increases suction power (up to 6500 Pa) and raises the cleaning roller, but also stops spraying water and scrapes away any remaining water, ensuring your carpets don't get wet.
Equipped with an advanced laser navigation system, it uses LiDAR to quickly and accurately map your home and clean it efficiently. Using the SwitchBot app, you can easily designate no-go areas and specify which rooms to clean. It also features an AI obstacle avoidance system to help you avoid objects.
While the water section manages itself, the dirt (dust) section is collected in a bag on the docking station, which only needs to be emptied every two months or so. On one side, there's the Water Station, which supplies the robot with water, and on the other, a charging station with a bag for emptying the vacuumed dirt.

Note that the S10 will also be capable of filling a humidifier. The robot will automatically travel back and forth between the Water Station and the humidifier to refill it. The humidifier will be sold separately, but will be launched at the same time as the SwitchBot S10.

Upcoming Kickstarter Campaign

The SwitchBot S10 will launch on Kickstarter on October 13th at a price of $1,199.99. You can also save even more by participating in the SwitchBot S10 rebate program.
