Mobvoi is a manufacturer we've already mentioned several times, known in particular for its TicWatch smartwatches. It must be said that in the field of Android smartwatches, Mobvoi is one of the few to offer such comprehensive and versatile devices. And it goes without saying that this new TicWatch Pro 5 once again reinforces this leadership position!
Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 and Wear OS 3
Two important points from the start: Mobvoi worked closely with Qualcomm to make the Ticwatch Pro 5 the first smartwatch to leverage the new Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform. This is a hybrid architecture developed specifically for wearables (portable devices) capable of supporting machine learning. According to Qualcomm, this new platform doubles performance while allowing for 50% longer battery life. It's also a platform developed specifically to support Android and, of course, the smartwatch operating system, Wear OS, available here in its latest version, Wear OS 3.
By integrating these two new features, Mobvoi aims to make its smartwatch a true co-pilot for its users' health: thanks to its numerous sensors and the use of AI, the Ticwatch Pro 5 is capable of collecting and analyzing health data live, providing the user with information and personalized recommendations for staying fit.

Previous versions already offered numerous features related to sports and health, but this TicWatch Pro 5 takes it a step further. Powered by Mobvoi's AI-enhanced algorithms, the TicWatch Pro 5 assesses individual fitness. VO2 Max, for example, predicts the maximum amount of oxygen you can use during exercise. In TicExercise, trail runners and night joggers can easily track their heart rate with a quick glance at the changing screen colors, without disrupting their rhythm.
The TicWatch Pro 5 is capable of handling over 100 different types of workouts (newly integrated open water swimming and altitude calibration for climbing or trail running).
After a workout, the TicWatch Pro automatically displays 5 health metrics: heart rate, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, stress level, and a heart health assessment.
An even more powerful dual screen
One of the defining features of the Ticwatch is undoubtedly its dual screen. The smartwatch features a color touchscreen, as well as a monochrome screen with very low power consumption. This screen is used for always-on display, or when the watch reaches the end of its battery life. Thanks to this dual-layer screen technology and its 680mAh battery, the TicWatch Pro 5 offers up to 80 hours of battery life, or more than 3 days, which is impressive for this type of device. Especially since its fast charging takes only 30 minutes!
The “Essential” screen, with low power consumption, previously displayed fairly limited information: date and time, step count, and battery level. This TicWatch Pro 5 improves on this significantly, thanks to a switchable tile system capable of displaying various vital information: heart rate, blood oxygen, calories, compass, and other essential data. Changing the display is done using the rotating crown, all without waking up the color screen.
Robust Design
The TicWatch Pro 5's case is made of aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring maximum strength and lightness. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, like the one found on many smartphones, making it resistant to fingerprints and shattering.
A big new feature, however, is that this new version features a rotating crown, making it easier and faster to navigate and launch apps, even with wet fingers or gloves. The crown allows you, for example, to zoom in on a map (GPS) or quickly adjust the volume.
Finally, it has been tested to meet the US-MIL-STD 810H standard and is water resistant to 5 ATM: the TicWatch Pro 5 is designed for everyday use and major adventures, with the ability to swim even in the open sea.
