Dishwashers are now a very practical piece of equipment, which, in addition to providing convenience, generally saves water (up to 75% according to studies). Unfortunately, there are some places where they're not suitable for installation, either due to lack of space or a lack of plumbing: student rooms, tiny houses, campers, recreational areas, etc. For all these situations, the Hava R01 proves to be a truly practical piece of equipment, as it's a small dishwasher that doesn't require a dedicated water supply. Let's take a closer look. Unboxing the Hava R01 Dishwasher Does getting a dishwasher delivered by mail seem impossible? Yet this is how the Hava R01 was delivered to me, thanks to its compact size and a weight of only 13kg:
The energy label on the packaging already gives us some indications: 4.5 liters of water consumption, 60dB of noise pollution, 2-hour cycle. It has an F classification. It's not the best there is, as many dishwashers are in E or even D. But there are still many models in F, even among major, well-known brands. So it's not fantastic, but it's within the norm.
Inside, we find the Hava R01, perfectly packaged between several polystyrene blocks. Although imposing, with its dimensions of 42.8 x 42.5 x 45.8 cm, it remains very compact compared to a traditional dishwasher:

All accessories are stored inside to optimize the delivered volume:

It includes a water inlet hose, another for the drain, a basket for washing fruits and vegetables, a water pitcher, and of course, instructions for use.

Inside, the Hava R01 also has a basket on wheels for storing dirty dishes.

A compact space designed for two people to wash dishes. But we'll see later that this figure is largely underestimated.

The mechanism is the same as a traditional dishwasher, with two arms, one at the top and one at the bottom, that spray water inside the appliance 360°. There's also the triple filtration and water drainage system at the bottom.

A detergent tablet simply fits into the slot in the door. Powder or liquid detergent can also be used.

While most of the appliance is made of plastic, the whole thing is quite well made and seems sturdy, like the hinges at the bottom of the door.

A connector on each side of the door allows you to check that it's properly closed before starting the dishwasher. These sensors also activate the lighting inside the dishwasher, which is very practical!

The Hava R01 has a touch control panel on the top. When switched off, we simply see a black strip:

But once switched on, all the controls are displayed. From left to right, we have:

“Dry” button for drying the dishes, which adds 60 minutes to the wash cycle

Remaining time indicator
- Normal mode: 69-minute wash cycle, with water at 68°C
- “Speed” mode: 29-minute cycle, with water at 62°C
- “Soft” mode: 59-minute cycle, for delicate and lightly soiled dishes, with water at 68°C
- “Baby” mode: 89-minute intensive wash cycle, with water at 68°C, for washing all utensils for young children
- “Fruit” mode: for washing fruits and vegetables. Water at room temperature for 19 minutes. Of course, no detergent is used in this mode, nor is drying mode! The mode button allows you to switch between the previously mentioned modes.
- Next comes the cycle start or pause button, and finally the On/Off button.
- While we're on top, take a look at a lid that unscrews:
- Here you can fill the dishwasher's reservoir with 5 liters of water. If you don't have a water supply to connect the appliance, simply fill the reservoir here using the provided pitcher (about 3 full pitchers).
- Instructions on the top explain how it works. The water temperature must be below 40°C; no need to pour hot water in; the appliance takes care of everything. The Hava R01 then beeps three times when the reservoir is full. It's impossible to make a mistake!
- Conversely, if there isn't enough water, a beep will sound when it's turned on, with a red indicator on the front.

At the back, there are two holes. One for the water inlet, the other for the drain:

Both hoses are included. If you don't have a water supply, simply leave the hose unconnected. The dishwasher will draw water from its reservoir anyway. Note that the water supply can be connected directly to the kitchen faucet.

To drain, simply connect the supplied hose and place it in the sink, for example. The dirty water will then drain through the sink. A small suction cup holds the hose in place. You can also simply use a bucket of at least 5 liters, which you can then empty elsewhere (into the toilet or elsewhere).

The sides of the appliance are sleek. Only the right side has a small grill for heat dissipation:
The bottom has a hatch for access to the pump and power supply if necessary:

That's it for the owner's tour. So let's move on to using it!
Using the Hava R01 Dishwasher

Using this dishwasher is relatively simple. There is no need to even consult the guide, since all the instructions are already present on the top of the device (in English).

You must first plug the appliance into a 230V electrical outlet. The Hava R01 has a standard outlet:

When you open the door, a blue light comes on. Very nice, and especially very practical, given the narrow interior and therefore a little darker.
Simply place your dirty dishes inside. Here, for example, we have enough place settings for two people, including plates, a small frying pan, glasses, and even two mugs and two breakfast glasses:
Of course, don't forget to add a detergent tablet and fill the water tank if the appliance isn't connected to a water supply.

The glass door provides a glimpse of the dishwasher's interior when it's running. The light turns off automatically after a few minutes.

Then you can start the wash cycle. The “normal” cycle will last 69 minutes. Pressing the “Dry” button also requests drying of the dishes, which adds an hour of drying time after the wash cycle. For a total run time of 2 hours.

The dishes come out perfectly clean and dry. Of course, the usual recommendations for any dishwasher apply: it's a dishwasher, not a trash can!

After testing at home, it's been put into our recreational area. Connected to the Ecoflow Delta 2 battery, it's perfect! Its size and size make it easy to place on the countertop next to the sink.
The Ecoflow reaches a maximum of 900 Wh, especially when heating the water. These are therefore occasional episodes, and consumption can drop back down to around 70 Wh afterward.

If you want to optimize battery consumption, you can easily opt for a short 29-minute cycle. You can then activate or deactivate automatic drying, as this is not the function that consumes the most energy.

Be careful, however: the Hava R01 has a very practical automatic drying function. After the drying process is complete, if you don't remove the dishes immediately, they will continue drying for 15 minutes at regular intervals, for three days. This keeps your dishes always dry and prevents unpleasant odors.

However, you can simply open the dishwasher door and let the dishes air dry if you want to save battery power. In use, with an EcoFlow Delta 2, we managed to do two loads of dishes. Conclusion

While this dishwasher may seem a bit like a toy at first glance, due to its entirely plastic construction, it proves extremely practical in use! The fact that it doesn't require a water supply, as well as its compact size, allow it to be placed almost anywhere, whether in a student room or a camper van, for example. And its light weight makes it very easy to move. Despite everything, it delivers results that are just as good as our conventional dishwashers. On our recreational property, it's become a much-loved piece of equipment for freeing ourselves from the chore of washing dishes :p While it's not possible to fit all the pots and pans in it, the dishes and cutlery for our five household members fit in without a hitch. Of course, we have to do a round after each meal, but it only uses 5 liters of water (instead of the average 25 when we do it by hand) and electricity provided free of charge by our solar panels. Meanwhile, we can do other, much more enjoyable things :)

Be careful, though, while this dishwasher is small, its price isn't quite so. Its retail price is €339, the same as a “classic” entry-level dishwasher. Fortunately, a current promotion on the manufacturer's website allows you to purchase it for €280.

, which is already a little more affordable. Amazon is very expensive, since it's currently available for €399 :/
