There are brands like this that I really appreciate for the quality of their products and their innovation. This is the case with Ugreen, which I've already had the opportunity to talk about several times, such as the recently reviewed double outlet with USB ports. This time, it's the turn of another power strip, even more comprehensive, since it offers no fewer than 7 outlets: the Ugreen DigiNest Cube. Let's take a closer look… Unboxing the Ugreen DigiNest Cube As you might imagine from its name, the Ugreen DigiNest Cube is a power strip shaped like a… cube! The packaging leaves no doubt: Inside, there's no fuss: you'll find the power strip accompanied by a short guide:So here we have a cube with sides measuring 8cm, with three 230V Shuko outlets.
Most devices will be able to plug into it without any problem, as this type of outlet is widely used on most electronic devices. We have a 230V outlet on the left of the unit, on top, and then on the right. There are no side-by-side outlets, so any device can plug into it, even if it has a large power supply.
The front panel houses the various USB ports: two USB-C ports, capable of delivering up to 65W of power (total), and two USB-A ports capable of delivering up to 30W. This power, particularly at the USB-C ports, thanks to support for PD 3.0, PPS, QC 4+/3.0, and FCP fast charging protocols, will allow even a laptop to be quickly charged (a MacBook Pro 13 will be fully charged in 2 hours, for example). The available power levels are detailed in the user manual, as the 65W are distributed across the four USB ports. A single computer connected to one of the USB ports will be able to benefit from the full 65W of power, while this power will be shared if another device is connected to a different USB port. This is typical of devices of this type.

All this power and these seven connectors in such a small unit is quite impressive! This small feat is made possible thanks to GaN III technology, which allows for a smaller size, faster charging, and all this with excellent heat dissipation.

On the back, there's a button to completely cut off the power supply. This is handy for turning everything off in one go when leaving the office in the evening, for example, without having to unplug socket after socket. An LED on the front lets you check whether the power supply is powered on or not. The LED is quite discreet, so you can sometimes even see its status in broad daylight.

On the back, there's also a 1.8m cable with a standard plug, allowing you to position the Ugreen DigiNest Cube wherever you want.

Finally, on the bottom, two rubber bands hold the power strip in place on a desk or piece of furniture, preventing it from slipping. Add to that the fact that the power strip still weighs around 700g, which keeps it securely in place.

As usual with Ugreen, the build quality is flawless. The power strip feels almost cast from a single block of plastic:

The Ugreen DigiNest Cube in Use

This Ugreen DigiNest Cube is particularly practical on a desk or meeting table, thanks to its numerous connections: you can easily plug in a computer, a monitor, a desk lamp, while also being able to charge your mouse, keyboard, or even your smartphone. I particularly like its very compact size, which saves space on the desk.

In a collaborative space, you can easily share the ports to power everyone's devices.

It can, of course, be used anywhere else where power outlets are needed: living room, kitchen, bedroom, etc.

In total, this power strip supports a power output of up to 3680W. Of course, the wall outlet used must be capable of handling this power. If the power requirement is exceeded, the Ugreen power strip has numerous protections, and an overload will cause it to shut down (the switch on the back automatically switches):

Thermal Guard, an overheating protection
Overvoltage protection

Short circuit protection

Overcurrent protection
Fireproof casing
- Grounding
- In short, this Ugreen DigiNest Cube is particularly practical to use!
- Conclusion
- There are many types of power strips available today, some more aesthetically pleasing than others, some more practical than others. This Ugreen DigiNest Cube boasts a design that might be more suited to an office than a living room (depending on the design of your home). But it certainly proves particularly effective in a desk area, for plugging in the various devices you might use there. Testing numerous products every week, I'm constantly unplugging and replugging various devices and accessories. Suffice it to say, a power strip on my desk is essential for me. And a size as compact as this Ugreen model is highly appreciated!
- Of course, quality comes at a price, since this Ugreen DigiNest Cube still has a retail price of €80. However, it's regularly on sale, whether on
- Amazon (currently €69 after applying the discount coupon), or on the manufacturer's official website (currently €67). If you're looking for a complete, practical, and reliable power strip, I highly recommend it!
