Save electricity with Alexa? It’s possible with the Hello Watt skill!

As temperatures drop again this February and rising electricity and gas prices push up bills, we're all looking to optimize our energy consumption without sacrificing our comfort. What if our voice assistant Alexa could help us? Now it's possible thanks to the new Hello Watt skill! Hello Watt, the app for closely monitoring your energy consumption As we've said before, the first important step in optimizing your energy consumption is being aware of it. Indeed, far too many households are distraught when they see their energy bill at the end of the year. But by then, it's too late; all that's left is to pay the bill. With regular monitoring, it's possible to take the necessary steps. While it used to be necessary to invest in a device to track our energy consumption, smart meters like the Linky have now made this easier: the data reported to Enedis is usable, and many companies offer to analyze it to help you optimize your consumption and thus save on your electricity and gas bills. This is the case with Hello Watt, which offers a mobile app to easily track your electricity consumption: simply install the app, create an account, and enter your address. From there, the service can find your meter number and associated data (if this isn't already the case, simply enter it directly from the electricity meter screen).

You can also provide some information about your home so that the app can compare you to other similar households (floor area, occupants, region). This is a good way to know where you stand, whether your consumption is normal or too high (or too low!).

You can track your consumption day by day, by month, etc., but also get more detailed data on the types of appliances contributing to this consumption, based on statistics from households similar to yours.

The Ecowatt service, which we integrated into Jeedom, is also integrated into Hello Watt to display the status of the electricity grid. Everything is thus centralized in one place!

By integrating Hello Watt with Alexa, we are continuing our mission to help more and more individuals manage their energy consumption. With the Hello Watt Skill, every Alexa-enabled household will be able to easily access their energy consumption and analyze their usage. At Hello Watt, we firmly believe that smart homes are ideal spaces for the energy transition and reducing electricity and gas consumption.

It is now possible to monitor your energy consumption by simply saying, “Alexa, open the Hello Watt Skill” and following the instructions. Once an account is created, users can use commands to have Alexa send them the information they are most interested in, such as “Alexa, what is my monthly electricity consumption?” or “Alexa, how is my energy consumption distributed?” Displaying the Widget on the Echo Show 15 Dashboard
With an Echo Show device, you can also add a widget to the screen and keep an eye on your power consumption. Widgets display the latest information on Alexa's favorite content. This provides quick access to frequently used items. Simply ask Alexa, “Which widgets can I add?” and select the Hello Watt Widget. It will appear directly on the Echo Show 15's home screen.
On the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 10, widgets are accessible from the widget panel. To access it, simply swipe left from the edge of the screen.
