I introduced you to Bluetti a few weeks ago, when I tested the Bluetti AC200MAXpower station, which can power an entire home in the event of a power outage. The manufacturer, a pioneer in the clean energy storage industry, presented its new AC500 model at CES 2023, which also received an Innovation Award, as well as the EP900, a system specifically designed for homes. With these products, the company claims to be redefining home energy. Just that!

The
Bluetti AC500 is a power station compatible with B300S batteries for a capacity of up to 18,432 Wh. The integrated BMS and LFP battery ensure increased safety and a longer lifespan (3,500 cycles). The 5,000W inverter (10,000W in case of surge) allows the AC500 to run high-power electronics without any problems. Connecting two AC500s in series doubles the capacity, voltage, and power to 36,864 Wh, 240 V/6,000 W for worry-free off-grid living! Bluetti is dedicated to optimizing how people access and store renewable energy. The AC500 is equipped with a unique MPPT solar inverter, enabling a maximum solar input of 3000W. Charging the AC500 from 0 to 80% SOC in optimal sunlight takes approximately 1.5 hours. It was for this feature that the AC500 received an Innovation Award at CES.
For an AC500+2*B300S combo, simultaneous dual charging via mains and solar can reach an input rate of 8,000W, so charging from 0 to 80% takes only 50 minutes.
The modular design significantly reduces the overall size and weight of the AC500 while increasing the flexibility to transport or replace each module individually instead of carrying everything at once if necessary. You can also free up significant space by vertically stacking multiple battery packs. This solution can therefore be used for both residential use and more nomadic activities: RVing, camping, etc. More importantly, multiple AC outlets are specially designed to easily support heavy-duty devices, including 1 x 240V/30A L14-30, 1 x 240V/30A TT-30, and 1 x 240V/50A NEMA14-50. Over the past decade, Bluetti has been driven to redefine renewable energy while providing a cost-effective solution for switching to solar for everyone around the world. Gasoline-powered generators that produce toxic fumes and annoying noise are a thing of the past. Although initially expensive, with a starting price of €5,700, the AC500 is an excellent investment to avoid high electricity bills in the long run. As a reliable backup power source with a 24/7 UPS function, it can be seamlessly integrated into the main grid to protect against unexpected power outages and perform peak load shifting to effectively reduce electricity consumption during peak hours.
Note that an AC300 version, offering a battery life of 3000 Wh and a power output of 3000 W, is also available. Also expandable using B300 batteries, its autonomy can go up to 12,288Wh and 6kW of power!
EP900+B500: Modular Whole-Home Energy Storage System
The upgraded EP900 and B500 feature a 9 kW inverter and expandable capacity, starting at 9 kWh with a single B500 LFP battery and topping out at 79 kWh when combined with 16 batteries!
The system can be integrated directly into any solar system, allowing for a maximum solar input of 9 kW. In addition to its peak-shaving mode to reduce electricity bills, it also acts as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), instantly switching to battery power within 10 ms after a grid outage.
Its ease of installation (no wall mounting required) and flexibility make it a comparable, if not better, alternative to the Tesla Powerwall. EP500Pro: The all-in-one inverter for the home
Finally, the company also presented the Bluetti EP500Pro, a similar device, but this time offering 6kW of power for 10kWh of autonomy. This device has the unique feature of being all-in-one, in a caster format, making it easier to move if necessary.
This type of equipment is becoming increasingly popular, meeting a real demand, not only for mobile use, but also for power outages and for electrical autonomy.
